so mother fucking close!

Hi so another update since I figure I might as well track my last remaining month(s)??? of braces. Today they took off a bunch of my ceramic brackets and put in metal ones for who the hell knows but whatever. Then they made little anchors out of wire on two of my top teeth and two on my bottom teeth so that they I can put a rubber band on them. I had rubber bands before but this time it's a fucking rubber band box in the front of my mouth (like actually) it looks awful but whatever at least it's summer so i don't care who sees me looking like this at home. This box is apparently supposed to close my bite. I have an appointment in 4 weeks so I'm hoping to God that my bite is closed and that my braces will be OFF! I will be the happiest person alive if that's the case! Oy. That is all. Here's a picture of my gorgeous teeth...

Not that anyone reads my shit..

SOOOOOOO it appears my last post was at one year of braces...it's almost been 3 years with these mother fucking things on my teeth... they are completely straight...but my damn bite. I'm now wearing rubber bands. Any ways I figure I might as well show a little update just for me so I know that these 3 years of braces are worth it.... -__-

3 years with braces...they're straight but my damn bite needs to fucking close!

How I feel about having braces...yes they make me want to pull my hair out...better yet they make me want to rip these horrid things off my teeth one by one. having braces in college is hell. ignore all my optimism I ever felt toward having braces at the beginning. i hate them and i want them off this summer because i can't stand them and i hate having to waist gas to drive back home every month for 15 minutes (because that's how long my appointments are) and then make the 1 hour and 30 minute drive all the way back to college. 

One Year With Braces!

I got my braces on July 28th and today is the 10th...well the 11th at 1:32am but you get my point! Basically it's been about a year with braces. One more to go! This year went by pretty fast I must say. So basically in the past year with braces I've went through a shit ton of pain BUT I'll admit that it has been totally worth it! I love seeing my teeth get straighter and straighter every month. I'm shocked that I've actually kept up with this blog. It blows my mind actually because every time I've made a blog, minus Tumblr(which btw my user name is sassyylittlething so follow me!) , I've never been consistent with it or I just forget I have a blog all together lol. Like I said  a year ago (at least I think I said this) I'm making this blog for me to see my the progress in my teeth.

So at today's appointment let's see, my Ortho said that my teeth were starting to look good, which is better than his usual downer-ness of my teeth lol. I didn't get a power chain on my top teeth. The teeth on the left side of my mouth got a power chain to turn one of my middle teeth and that's really about it. I didn't get colors on the bottom because well they didn't ask me :( the Ortho assistant or whatever just started putting on the elastics.Though she did ask me if I wanted this whiter looking color or the more clear one. They looked almost identical so I just said I don't care and she went with the more white one because apparently they don't stain as easily. Whateva! I kinda like this color more because they make my braces even less visible. HOORAH!

So yeah. Here's a picture :)

I'm thinking of making another blog post on like my actual one year anniversary of having braces and possibly make a little youtube video with all the pictures. We'll see!

braces month...summer!

As usual I've lost track of how long I've had these wretched braces on for. It's been almost a year though! I know I for a fact I got them towards the end of July. Not that it's anywhere near July now...but I'm on summer vacation and I was on my vacation when I got them on.

Any ways. Today was a bitch. I went to the dentist and then like after that appointment and hour later I had an ortho appointment. The dentist I had was a bitch. My orthodontist was strangely in a really good mood today which was nice. He actually said my teeth were coming along which is what I like to hear!

So let's see. I got a stronger wire on my top teeth and a clear power chain once again.

On my bottom teeth...umm I don't actually know if they used a different wire or not but whatever. All my bottom teeth now have the rubber band thingies. I got blue ones.  

I get colored bottom braces just for me because I never got to live out my childhood of getting colored braces like everyone did in grade school. Since I'm in college I'd really rather not have people see me with colored braces because that would make me look ten times younger than I already look and no one can see my bottom teeth aka why I get colors and leave the top clear!

I really hate braces...

I meant to post this a few weeks ago after after my last ortho appointment but i forgot soo yeah I'm doing it now! Let's see...

nothing new to my top braces other than them putting a new clear powerchain in. I went with hot pink elastics on the bottom. The didn't do the 3 teeth on the bottom because they are all tied in with steel ties. I must say so matter how unenthusiastic my ortho is every time he sees my teeth I'm loving the way they look now. My top teeth are straight and my bottom ones...well they're getting there! Can't wait until they are all completely straight even though by then I'm still going to have these damn braces in because they need to fix my bite. 

Blah. I mean as much as I can't stand having them they aren't terrible, it's the freaking expander that is! It was only supposed to be in for 6 months...lies! It's been like 10 months!

Let's see my orthodontist is a fucking ass hole.

I got a power chain on all my top teeth...though you can't really tell since it's clear...

All of my bottom teeth finally have the rubber bandy shit around the brackets. They are pink!

Minus my bite...my teeth are looking quite good if I do say so myself...though my orthodontist disagrees...but one of the ortho assistants said they were looking good-she's nice so her opinion means more to me than my jerk face of an orthodontist. 

No literally! The assistant did EVERYTHING to my teeth all my orthodontist did was look at my teeth for like 10 seconds and said you have a long way to go. No shit Sherlock but they are looking sexy compared to what 8 months ago? Damn.

i wish my teeth could just magically straighten over night.

i'm so sick of braces! i had to get like this laser gum surgery-ish thing.

i couldn't tell you what they did because my eyes were closed and i was literally crying the entire time. my entire right side of my mouth was numb and apparently they used some laser to get rid of gum tissue...honestly i don't know. On that tooth there was a button (no idea what that is) and they took that off and added a bracket. They finally added brackets to all my bottom teeth. They made one tooth have a metal bracket which is gona look ridiculous once they all straighten out since everything else is ceramic. whatevs. They added a powerchain to half of my bottom teeth. I asked for pink this time because I figured since I'm stuck with a metal mouth-ceramic mouth-for 1 year and a half I might as well change things up a bit. My mouth hurts as usual. Here's a picture...

braces month 6?

Hey there gonna try to make this short and sweet because i need to go to sleep lol.

Umm he added like a baby bracket to one of my bottom teeth. He did absolutely nothing to my top teeth but change the little rubber bandy things around my brackets.

Dumb biddie dental assistant who was changing the band thingyss didn't ask me if I wanted clear as usual and I actually wanted pink on the bottom just to see what it would look like slash it's almost Feb.

Soo lastly I have to go back in like 4 weeks for some laser gum contouring something shit.

I'm kinda scared. He said it doesn't hurt but the word laser just sounds terrifying.

Apparently he's doing this to make a tooth bigger? Who knows.

Umm I guess I will see you well no you'll see me...actually no one will see since no one reads my blog hahah. Kinda glad.

Teeth after the dentist!

I had my favorite dentist clean my teeth today. Her name is Dina. I absolutely love her. She's very friendly and knows I hate going to the dentist so she always talks to me and tells stories to get my mind off of my teeth being cleaned. It was her first time seeing me with braces too. Any ways I took a picture just because. So here it is...

I have an ortho appointment on the 17th and I could be wrong but I think that will be month 6 of braces! I know it's not a long time but still time went by pretty fast with these babies on and I've definitely noticed change! Praying to God I get my expander off! He said 6 months with it when I got it put on but who knows! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

braces month...i lost track

They took out the power chain, half of the coil spring on my bottom teeth, and added some funky plastic contraption that connects from like one molar to another on both sides of my mouth. it feels funky. oh and i didn't notice til i took the picture but i guess they took the bracket off one of my bottom teeth where the powerchain was connected to. And here's the picture...

Umm apparently these suckers come off July 2013...womp.

No tears this appointment! Let's see nothing too painful,  they added a bracket to one of my bottom teeth since there's finally space for it and on the right side of my mouth I got a power chain. It's blue! That kinda hurt but not enough to make me cry! Dumb bitch didn't let me pick the color of the rest of my bands. I should have spoke up. Oh well. Umm yeah. It hurts to bite down on that side. Other than that I will be back at my ortho in December. Seems longer than usual. Hope this power chain does its job! I will defo take a picture if I see this crooked tooth straighten out!

I kept forgetting to take a picture! i said i would take a picture the day after my last post...oops 2 weeks later my bad! soo without further here are my teeth. 

They look the same to me...

I think my next ortho appt is the 25th of October.

well hello again!

So I had my first braces tightening today...OUCH! I was legit in tears. I wasn't crying but the pain was like unbearable that my eyes could not stop tearing up. They put a stronger coil spring on my bottom lower teeth-that was a bitch and half. On my top teeth it wasn't too bad. They put a new wire in and then like put this other coil spring to make space for this molar that is obviously not in place and they like wound up a bunch of wires to make this tooth turn inwards because it's like sideways ish. I mean it hurt like hell but the bottom teeth like I said was the worst. I look at my teeth and my top ones look slightly better but my bottom teeth honestly look more crooked. Dr.Chang what the fuck are you doing? I swear I feel like things have to get worse before they get better. Ugh. Oh and I forgot to mention not only did it hurt getting them tightened my entire mouth is in pain. It feels like it did when I got my braces on...quite possibly worse than that actually!

I'll take a picture of my teeth tomorrow.

Next appointment October 25th. 

So does that mean a year and 11 months until I get these train tracks out of my mouth and 5 more months until I get my expander out?!?!

I sure hope so.

 Time to pop an advil and pass out.

starting to see my teeth change!

I know I said I wasn't going to write in here until my next ortho appt but I took a picture of my lower teeth and I definitely see a slight change in them from the last picture I posted of them.

Taken today August 17th

 The difference I see: Well there's 4 crooked teeth on the bottom. The 2nd tooth from the left looks like it moved down a bit and also slightly straightened out! Looks like my braces are actually doing their job! Yay...but I don't see any change in my top teeth. 

Mini update: Eating isn't as painful. I still miss popcorn and chips oh and sour patch kids too :(

Last week my ortho put some molding crap on my expander so that I wouldn't have to feel it because it was mad painful and left an indent on my tongue! He also repositioned one of my brackets which was quite painful! Umm well my tongue is happy it is no longer in pain from my expander, however food is now constantly getting stuck up there. Bleh.

Dentist appointment next week. I bet they will be happy I finally got braces. I can't wait to get that suction thingy in my mouth because this expander makes me salivate like crazy and it's hard to swallow!

Next ortho appt is September 13th so unless I see any changes, bye until then!

I really didn't want to post a picture of my bottom teeth because they are so crooked but I'm going to any ways. I figured I should since A) no one reads my blog so why be embarrassed and B) I want to see the progress in my teeth getting straight since I have no other pictures of me that show my lower teeth. 1 week anniversery with braces!

Today i got my expander in. It legit took 5 minutes. Ortho just stuck these bands around my back molars on each side and made me bite down on these cotton thingys so that the cement could dry. That's weird saying cement because you don't normally think of people having cement in your mouth. Any ways, so I gota have this bitch and a half hunk of metal in my mouth for 6 months. It's making my salivate like crazy, making it impossible to swallow, and giving me a damn lisp! Ah!

Well here's a picture of me with it on.

I look like a spazz in this picture lol.You honestly can't even tell I'm wearing one. Very grateful that I didn't get the expander where you have to crank it.

I don't understand what expanders do, but they suck!

Um unless I see anything different in my teeth I won't be posting for another 6 weeks...aka when I go back to the ortho. I'm surprised at how consistent I've been with this blog.

updated picture...day??

I realized the last picture was kinda gross. Maybe it's just me but my teeth look a tiny bit better. Is it even possible for them to get straight in less than a week? They are in no way straight at all but they just seem different. Who knows. See for yourself and compare it to my first picture.

So there are my teeth. DUH. I also have bottom braces but I'm not confident enough to take a picture of them. Well mmm maybe I'll take a picture but not upload it until I actually see a difference in the way they look.

Day 4

I'm quite surprised that I've felt the need to say something about my braces for 4 days in a row...odd. Oh well! Um well let's see shall we start with the good or bad news?

BAD

Well I think I already mentioned that the wax has not been sticking to my brackets but whatever. This one bracket is legit stabbing me. The little hook where I'm assuming in the future rubber bands will go is hooking it self into my damn inside lip! Gah it hurts! When I go to my ortho Thursday I'm getting them to stick the wax on for me because clearly I'm incapable of doing so. Let's move on to good news.

For the first time with my braces I have been out in public and seen by people other than my family and ortho. I went to church then my friends house to go to the mall. I forget how it came up but I told her I had braces and she was like "REALLY? I didn't even notice!" Damn that makes me feel good. Glad these ceramic braces are doing their job! That's really it. Blah bye I need to finish homework.

WAIT! No! Something else good I forgot to mention! I was starving at the mall so of course where am I gonna find apple sauce and soup lol so I went and got teriyaki (definitely spelled that wrong!) chicken and it was cut up into tiny pieces so I figured I'd be okay. So I did what the ortho told me and chewed it with my back teeth...ehh it wasn't awful! I've had worse pain. Believe me! Okeyy now I'm done talking so...bye again!

Day 3: WAX WON'T STICK!

Ughhhhhhh now all of the sudden I'm being poked to death by one my brackets on the bottom of my mouth. Every time I smile or laugh it digs into my mouth AHHHHHHHHH! That wax my ortho gave me does NOT work! So here I am just sitting in pain trying not to smile or laugh.

Eating is getting slightly easier as is brushing my teeth.

Going through a popcorn withdraw.
